Access: There are four steps to enter the office from the
west side parking lot. Those with difficulties on stairs should park
in the south side parking lot and use the level sidewalk to enter
the building.
Canceling
or Changing Appointments: In order to serve you well we would
like you to call or e-mail us notice that you will need to reschedule
an appointment that you cannot keep. The staff will try to call the
day before to confirm scheduled appointments, but sometimes they can
not or have incorrect phone information. The treatment schedule that
your doctor has recommended is designed to achieve maximal benefit
in the shortest amount of time. It is very important to keep your
treatment schedule as close to what the doctor prescribes as possible.
When there are many missed appointments the progress toward recovery
is affected and sometimes a condition develops chronic components
that might have been avoided. Call the office at 884-0771
or e-mail us at sunbear@sunbear.cc.
If your running late don’t worry unless it will be close to
or after normal closing time. We operate on “New Mexico time”
so 20 minutes or so is still on time. If it’s going to be close
to closing just call and the doctor will happily stay and see you.
Signing
In: While we encourage walk in and drop in patient’s
when the need for a treatment is present, we would like everyone to
sign in on the podium in from of the business office window. We schedule
follow up appointments so that you can keep to the treatment schedule
that the doctor has recommended and so that you can see the doctor
of your choice at the time that is most convenient for you. Patients
with scheduled appointments are always seen promptly and ahead of
unscheduled patients. If your time in tight be sure to tell Gloria,
Ariel or Margaret so that can make sure that you can keep to your
schedule as much as possible.

Financial
Policy: It is the policy of this office to collect any co-payment
or deductible amount at the time of the visits. Exceptional circumstances
may warrant payment over time, but this has to be arranged with the
office manager, Gloria. Don’t ask your doctor, go directly to
Gloria. The staff will call your insurance company while you are completing
paper work or seeing the doctor on the first visit. They will get
an explanation of your benefits from the insurance representative.
There are times that the information provided to our office is incorrect.
Ultimately the contract for insurance is between you and the insurance
company. We will assist you in every way possible to ensure that the
insurers’ obligations are met. We3 contract with a great many
of the managed care plans and have accepted rates that are lower than
our usual and customary charges. In those cases you are only responsible
for the contracted maximum charge. If ours is higher than the contracted
charge the staff will adjust any remaining balance (after your co-pay
and the insurers payment are collected)
Auto accidents and work injuries have unique and individual requirements
and responsibilities. Patient’s involved in cases of those types
should make sure they sit down with Gloria and discuss their obligations
and payment responsibilities.
Our
goals are to treat your problems
with effective, efficient methods and not allow finances to become
a barrier to your better health and well being. If financial problems
develop discuss your situation, confidentially, with Gloria and she
will make sure that arrangements are agreed upon. |
