My name is Linda Decker, and I have been a licensed massage therapist for almost 9 years. I received my initial massage training and graduated here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from Universal Therapeutic Massage Institute in 1995.

Some of my continuing education has been in the areas of Neuromuscular Therapy, Fibromyalgia therapy, Polarity, Lomi-Lomi ha’a Mauli Ola, Usui system of Reiki, Homeopathic remedies, Cranio-Sacral therapy, Foot Reflexology. Some areas I would like to study more are, Myofascial release, Pregnancy and Delivery massage, and Spa techniques.

I was born here in Albuquerque and grew up here most of my life. As a young person, I have also lived in Missouri, South Carolina and Louisiana.
I graduated high school here at Valley High School and attended UNM. My daughter and son-in-law have given me a lovely granddaughter, but I’m not prejudiced!

Massage is my life and my passion thanks to God, and I want to continue progressing ever forward with it for the rest of my life.

Merine McCoy: New Physique Fitness was opened on March of 2000 as a private gym. It originated in my home in northeastern Albuquerque. Advertising was through word of mouth, motivational seminars, and live testimonies.

When I first started I was training in the great room of my home and then started to utilize a screened in patio, many people came to believe that I had lost my mind, for wanting people to come into my house for fitness training, they felt it was bad to bringing people into my private domain. I never felt that way.

I believed my dream was coming true, my vision was somewhere on the horizon. I did not have a lot of fancy equipment when I first started out. I knew how to work with what I had (i.e. weight bench, weights, dumbbells, Total Gym 2000… and all the other basics of a gym) this is what New Physique Fitness started with. As word of mouth traveled, people began to come in to my gym.

The people who had joined my Fitness Center loved the setting of a home gym; it was a more one on one session. All of the clients quickly became acquainted with one another and they all had the same goal to work out, change there lifestyle. I was busy training anywhere from 15 to 25 clients and traveling around as well as out of town. My main contacts were churches, businesses, and some hospitals. New Physique was growing consistently in numbers.

I needed more space and decided to take one of my bedrooms and integrate it into New Physique Fitness. I gave up 500 sq ft, in turn expanding the great room better equipped to for more equipment. I quickly added a power rack system, more weight benches, Precor station, Precor elliptical cross trainer, abdominal equipment, and so much more. I also added an above ground pool, a spa that sits six, with its own little private cabana room, spa room and a private massage building. All of this happened in the third year of my opening.

New Physique Fitness continues to grow even more, in January 2004. I was blessed with the opportunity with the offer of moving my gym into a commercial setting. This was the opportunity to gain more growth and establishment for the opportunity to to help even more people.

New Physique Fitness is now located inside SunBear Chiropractic at 3500 Comanche Suite I, along with Dr. William H. Doggett D.C. FACO, and Dr. Vince Frost. I now offer personal training, exercise, and rehab at SunBear Chiropractic.

Ariel Ramirez, born a Texan and raised in Hobbs, NM. Graduated from Hobbs High School and attended New Mexico Jr. College for 2 yrs. Ariel is currently attending college and is on the road to becoming a Radiology Technician. You can usually catch Ariel around the office assisting the Doctor or attending the front office.
